Topic

A PMF that gives a very strong match. Treat it as a standard and use it to find optimum settings for the search parameters

Requirements

User access to any Mascot server, including the Matrix Science public web site

Experimental

A protein mixture (not alkylated) was separated on a 2D gel. A spot was extracted and digested with trypsin. The digest was analysed on a reflector MALDI-TOF instrument. The data file contains a list of MH+ values

Data

Right-click this link: PMF1.txt, and choose Save target as or Save link as

Tips

  • The protein sequence is in SwissProt
  • A very strong match

Questions

  1. What is a suitable mass tolerance?
  2. What is the optimum setting for missed cleavages?
