Mascot Distiller now supports a variable modification on the same residue as the label

Mascot Distiller 2.4.3 is a new patch release. Mostly bug fixes, but one major enhancement. Provided you have Mascot Server 2.4, quantitation using isotope labels (precursor protocol) now supports a variable modification on the same residue as the label. This is mainly for SILAC. So, for example, if the quantitation method uses SILAC at K, you no longer have to define and include modifications for SILAC + Acetyl, SILAC + Methyl, etc., when you want to quantify peptides with these modifications at K.
